EFT Support – Tapping Statements

The issues addressed here vary from performance anxiety to depression, anxiety, serious and chronic illness, phobias, unusual physical conditions to insomnia. In every single case, there are childhood traumas to be resolved. A trauma here is described as the private experience of the child as he or she experienced the world at that time. It is his or her own interpretation at that moment, and there’s nothing right or wrong about that experience. If the trauma was never addressed adequately, these lost “children” need healing today, as much as they needed it when the event occurred. In the sub-conscious mind, there is no past or future, only the present.

Sometimes it isn’t necessary to use statements when we tap. Other times, statements are extremely effective. I have included some of the commonly used ones here. Some of the affirmations I use are adapted from other EFT practitioners including Gary Craig, Dr. Patricia Carrington, Dr. Carol Look, Dr. David Lake, as well as other good ideas shared on www.eftuniverse.com . In addition you may also see stuff here from Caroline Myss and Louise Hay. You are welcomed to use any of the statements posted here for your own personal healing.

Sometimes these statements are assigned to clients as homework after we have addressed some core issues or events in therapy. As homework, I generally ask clients to tap daily once or twice a day for 7 to 21 days, depending on the severity of the issue. For something like anxiety, which is made up of many childhood events, it generally takes several therapy sessions. In between, sessions, I like to assign homework because the more involved you are in your own healing, the faster you heal.

To use these statements, simply tap continuously on all the points mentions in EFT Basics and read the statements as you tap. Tap 10 times on each point before moving to the next point. It helps to read slowly, in a relaxed and gentle tone of voice.
